Hi, I am Sasha, Mindset Coach and Master Healer, and I teach animal lovers how to start using their natural gifts to start a successful pet business and work with animals.

There is something powerful about discovering you were meant to be a healer. Whether you’ve always felt connected to animals, or you’ve only recently started feeling a deeper intuitive pull, one of the most common questions I get asked is: “How do I know what kind of healer I am?” or “How do I find my healing path?” This is a deeply personal journey, and one that requires reflection, curiosity, and a willingness to trust your inner voice.

In today’s blog, I want to guide you through a process of self-inquiry. These are questions I often ask my students and clients when they come to me feeling overwhelmed or uncertain about where they fit in the healing world. These questions aren’t about putting you in a box or forcing a label on you. Instead, they are designed to help you unlock the truth you already carry inside yourself.

Let me remind you: healing isn’t something you learn from a textbook or pick up from a workshop. It’s something that lives inside you. Workshops and programs simply awaken and develop what you already possess. And yes, you do already possess it.

So grab a notebook, find a quiet space, and take your time with these. These are not questions to rush through. They are invitations to sit with your truth, listen deeply, and allow your healing path to rise up from within you.

Question 1: What types of experiences or emotions do animals evoke in you?

This may seem like a basic question, but it is one of the most important. When you are around animals, how do you feel? Do you feel calm? Energized? Do you feel a sense of peace or purpose? Perhaps you feel a deep ache or responsibility to help them?

Some healers are drawn to rescue animals, others to high-energy dogs who need grounding. Some find themselves naturally connecting with elderly pets or those at the end of life. Understanding the emotional and energetic response you have when you’re around animals can help you discover what kind of healing you are naturally offering.

Question 2: What kind of people are drawn to you? What kinds of animals are drawn to you?

Believe it or not, the type of healing energy you carry often attracts both humans and animals who need that specific medicine.

Have you noticed that anxious animals seem to calm down when they sit near you? Do friends always come to you when they feel overwhelmed or emotionally stuck? Do animals approach you easily, even the ones known to be skittish?

Start keeping track of the kinds of animals and people who are magnetized to you. There is often a pattern there, and that pattern is a reflection of your healing gift.

Question 3: What healing methods are you naturally curious about or drawn to?

Every healer has a unique style, and often that style is reflected in the modalities that feel most natural to them. Some healers are highly tactile and drawn to massage, touch therapy, or energy bodywork. Others feel more attuned to sound healing, voice work, or vibrational frequencies.

Are you someone who loves the way crystals feel in your hands? Do you burn sage or incense regularly? Have you always been fascinated by essential oils or natural remedies? These curiosities are more than just hobbies. They are energetic clues.

Don’t overthink it. Let yourself be guided by what feels beautiful, soothing, and powerful to you.

Question 4: What kind of space do you like to create for others?

Think about how you naturally support others, whether that’s animals, people, or both. Are you someone who holds space and listens deeply? Do you bring laughter and joy wherever you go? Do you offer grounding and stability when others are falling apart?

There are different types of healing energy. Some people are nurturers, others are protectors, some are energetic amplifiers. Understanding the space you naturally create helps you define the way you heal.

Your healing presence is just as important as your healing tools. This is especially true when working with animals, who are far more sensitive to energy than most humans. They feel your intention, your stillness, and your emotional clarity more than anything you do externally.

Question 5: When do you feel most powerful, aligned, or at peace?

One of the fastest ways to discover your healing path is to follow the breadcrumbs of alignment. Where in your life do you feel most alive? What activities or moments make you feel purposeful?

Is it when you’re walking dogs at sunset, surrounded by nature? Is it when your hands are placed gently on an animal’s body, offering Reiki or comfort? Is it when you’re helping a grieving pet parent navigate the loss of their companion?

Your moments of peace and power are a portal. They lead you to the kind of healer you already are.

Question 6: What healing have you had to do for yourself?

Most healers are not strangers to pain. In fact, many of us discover our gifts through personal loss, trauma, illness, or a period of deep emotional awakening.

What have you had to heal in yourself? Did you experience the loss of a beloved pet that changed the way you see life? Did you grow up feeling misunderstood, and now find purpose in understanding animals without words? Did you heal your own anxiety or emotional struggles through connection with animals?

Often, our personal healing journey becomes the foundation of our professional path. You’re not broken; you’re initiated. Every wound you’ve walked through holds wisdom for the animals and people you are here to serve.

Question 7: What does your ideal healing practice look like?

Take a moment and dream. If you could do anything, work anywhere, serve any kind of animal, what would your day look like?

Would you have a cozy in-home healing room for dogs? Would you offer mobile healing sessions for senior pets? Would you run online animal healing circles from your laptop in your favorite chair? Would you travel and offer energy healing at shelters around the country?

Don’t worry about the “how” just yet. Let yourself paint a picture of your dream healing practice. These visions are not fantasies; they are intuitive whispers of what is possible for you.

Putting It All Together

After journaling through these questions, look over your answers and see what themes are emerging. You might notice that you are called to work with rescue animals, or that you feel a deep connection to aromatherapy and energy touch. Maybe you realize you want to work more with grieving pet parents or specialize in distance healing.

Your path doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. In fact, it shouldn’t. The most powerful healers are the ones who trust the path they are carving for themselves. Your unique combination of experiences, energy, and desire are the exact ingredients that will shape your future healing business.

And here is what I want you to know: you are allowed to start exactly where you are. You don’t need 100 clients, a fancy website, or 10 certifications to begin helping animals. All you need is willingness, trust, and a little guidance.
